In its architectural alignment, the city recaptures the unique
design that characterizes the houses in their aesthetic proximity, mimicking
the primal creation and original construction. The equilibrium of colors,
too, delineates the visually symmetrical dimension. Therein lies the present
geography, perceived as a stationary visual and embodied in its historicity.
It is met by a shifting, illusionary, utilitarian geography governed by the
policies of new commerce.
The
former epitomizes the primordial human belonging and his latent capital in his
existence and narrative. The latter signifies the human metamorphosed towards
containers of importation, usurpation, and oblivion. Two dualities coexist: the
colonial objective of exploration, excavation, and erasure and the colonized
local objective of withdrawal, distancing, and the labor of inaction.
