Ahmed Albahrani IRAQI, b. 1965
Ahmed AlBahrani (b. 1965, Iraq) discovered his passion for art early on. As a child, he would often retreat to the banks of the Euphrates River, where he molded figures from the clay he found there. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the landscape, AlBahrani’s imagination flourished. Unlike his peers, he was deeply moved by ancient monuments during school trips, sparking a lifelong appreciation for history and form. Preferring creative solitude to the company of other children, he spent hours by the river, crafting clay forms inspired by symbols and signs from his environment, giving each piece a unique name.
Al Bahrani's large and small works consistently subjected his active imagination to materials perceived as fixed and heavy, creating abstract, fluid forms. By focusing on the creative capabilities of raw materials and the interactions of shadows and light, Al Bahrani's work always has a sense of movement and spontaneity.
Through his art, AlBahrani continues to explore the boundaries of form and material, leaving a lasting impression on the world of contemporary sculpture.
